Dr. Md Geaur Rahman is a Data Scientist, a Professor of Data Science and Machine Learning at the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Bangladesh and a Research Associate & Academic at the Charles Sturt University (CSU), Australia.

Professor Rahman was a Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (PGD in ICT) Programme at BAU. Before that he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Université de Strasbourg, France.

He received a PhD in Computer Science (Specialization: Data Science and Machine Learning) from the School of Computing and Mathematics, CSU, Australia. He completed B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and secured first class first position in the entire class in both degrees.

He has more than 17 years teaching experiences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels (having local and international students come from multiethnic backgrounds) at CSU (Australia) and BAU (Bangladesh) where he taught a wide a range subjects, including programming, data mining, data science, web and mobile development, networking, and DBMS.

His research activities have concentrated on the areas of data science, machine learning, ensemble learning, deep learning, data pre-processing, data mining, transfer learning, incremental learning, and their diverse applications. So far, he has published more than 34 peer reviewed journal articles and conference papers in top quality journals [such as IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (CORE A*), Patter Recognition (CORE A*), Knowledge and Information Systems, and Expert Systems with Applications] and conferences [such as IJCNN (CORE A), AusDM (CORE B), and ADMA (CORE B)].

He received a number of awards, including Global Research Impact Recognition Award 2020, Best Presentation Award, Writing Up Award 2014, Best Researcher Award, and Best Paper Award. Moreover, in his undergraduate study he was awarded a Gold Medal for securing the highest mark among the students of the entire Science faculty. Furthermore, he received several research grants and industry supports from different organizations.

He has supervised several postgraduate research students as principal supervisor and co-supervisor. Moreover, he is serving as a reviewer/editor/PC member of several journals and conferences, including PR, KBS, ESWA, JIPS, ACI, CCC, and AusDM. Recently, he has been invited as an "Invited Speaker" from the Robotics & AI Research Conference (RoboAICon2023), 23 March 2023 to 25 March 2023, Rome, Italy.
